Overview
Jaime A. Pozo, Esq. is a South Florida native and longtime resident of the City of Coral Gables. He joined the firm founded by his sister, Martha Pozo-Diaz, in 2010, at which time the firm was reorganized as Pozo-Diaz & Pozo, P.A. Mr. Pozo joined the firm to expand its litigation and transactional capabilities, bringing extensive experience in complex insurance defense and civil litigation to better serve the firm’s diverse client base.
Mr. Pozo’s practice focuses on the defense of insurance companies, their insureds, and self-insured entities across a wide range of matters, including premises liability, products liability, automobile, fleet and trucking liability, personal injury defense, construction defects and construction-related claims, professional liability, ADA and accessibility claims, emergency medicine, workers’ compensation (including Employer “B” liability), and co-employment matters. He has been trained in handling all aspects of litigation from pre-suit through trial and has conducted hundreds of accident investigations throughout Florida in both catastrophic and non-catastrophic cases. He has developed and led rapid-response accident investigation teams in major cities across Florida and the Southeastern United States to support clients immediately following incidents.
Prior to joining Pozo-Diaz & Pozo, P.A., Mr. Pozo was a member of the Litigation Department at Kelley, Kronenberg and later transitioned to Wicker Law Firm, P.A., where he managed the firm’s statewide litigation practice and developed its accident investigation program. He is a nationally recognized lecturer on fraud, accident investigation, workers’ compensation, employer liability, and litigation practice in Florida.
Mr. Pozo earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami in 1997 and his Juris Doctor, with Honors, from St. Thomas University School of Law. He previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Linda Dakis and the Honorable Gisella Cardonne-Ely in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for Miami-Dade County.
He has been actively involved in civic and professional organizations, including appointments to the Dade County Bar Association Judicial Outreach Committee, the City of Coral Gables Cable Television Board, the Board of Adjustments, and the City’s Insurance Advisory Board, where he served multiple terms. Mr. Pozo is a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, and the National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association. He is fluent in Spanish and holds an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards, reflecting recognition by his peers for professional excellence.
